Hey!

My name is Julia and I am the founder of this website.

In 2016 I started my green beauty journey which would turn out to be among the best decisions I ever made!
What I did was replace my synthetic skin care products & hair care products with organic and plant based/botanical products which resulted in my skin and hair starting to feel and look better than ever.

As I started changing my products to more skin-friendly and eco-friendly ones, I started to check the ingredients list more carefully.

What I discovered was that on all the products I reviewed, both more environmentally friendly and those on the synthetic side, there were ingredients that I had no idea what they meant, ingredients like glycerin caprylate or dihydroxacetone. It made me feel like this was something I needed to learn more about because if I don´t understand what these ingredients are, how do I know for sure what it is I am putting into my body and if this product is actually good for me or not?

The more I learned about cosmetic chemistry the stronger I felt that this is something I want to share which led me to create this magical website!

I have created the green bathroom cabinet for those of you who want to start your green beauty journey and want tips on which products you can try, but also for those of you who already use green skin care and want inspiration!
I created it for those of you who want to know what the unknown ingredients in the ingredient list mean in order to make an informed choice when it comes to your skin care and hair care.

On this website you will find a blog filled with inspiration!

There are several sections on the website that present green beauty.
We have plant-based oils that presents oils from all corners of the world and their effect on our skin. We have medicinal plants which presents medicinal plants and their magical properties and we also have a section that focuses on fragrances and DIY perfume recipes.

These sections can be really interesting to go through! When I started learning about medicinal plants, I was exposed to some that I had never heard of and I learned about the properties of plants that have been around me but that I had no idea could help me in different ways.

To educate you about cosmetic chemistry, I have created a INCI list about substances that can be found in synthetic skin care & in green skin care with a chemical designation.
I try my best to translate the different chemical designations into a language we can more easily understand and I update that page continuously.
